An attactive belt plate to an Officer of Volunteers worn during the Napoleonic Wars.  A design of "LSV" with a strapped motto of "Pro Rege Et Patria" (For King and Country) surmounted by a Georgian crown.
This came to me from Shrewsbury so could possibly be Loyal Shrewsbury (or Shropshire) Volunteers.

Gilded copper. In excellent condition but with a couple of areas of wear to the gilt finish, mainly at 2 o'clock. Both original studs and hook remain.
